SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW PREVENTION MONITOR

1st Response is a fully-integrated, battery powered Sanitary Sewer Overflow Monitor
capable of proactively alerting municipal personnel within seconds of an impending
overflow condition.

A level sensor combined with cellular technology is installed within the suspect manhole, and upon wastewater levels reaching a user-defined height, a text message is dispatched alerting field crews of the possibility of a surcharge event.To confirm that an alert was received, a user response must be activated, otherwise the alert will be resent on a continual basis.

All electronics are integrated within a corrosion resistant Nema 4,4Xenclosure and are submersible rated to IP-67 standards. 1st Response is a self-contained unit that simply and securely mounts to the top rung of the manhole ladder without the need for confined space entry. Installation is accomplished within 5 minutes. Outright purchase or yearly lease plans for single or multiple units are conveniently available.

Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO's) are releases of untreated sewage into the environment and have always been illegal under the Clean Water Act.These sewage spills can cause health hazards, damage homes and businesses and threaten the environment and local waterways. Each year, there are approximately 50,000 sanitary sewer overflows causing millions of gallons of wastewater to back up into private residences. In reality, funding to maintain and improve wastewater collection systems has decreased while the demand placed upon these aging systems has increased.
